Click “⚡ Plugins” in the Admin Bar from any page. 2. Use the search box to quickly find a plugin if you have many installed. 3. Click a toggle to activate or deactivate that plugin. 4. For protected plugins, confirm the action in the dialog that appears. 5. The row updates immediately to reflect the new status — no page reload. #### Troubleshooting Mode 1. Click “Troubleshooting Mode” in the Quick Plugins dropdown footer. 2. Check the plugins you want to temporarily disable for conflict testing. 3. Click “Disable Selected.” The plugin records your pre-change state for your user session. 4. Test your site with those plugins off. 5. When done, reopen the dropdown, click “Troubleshooting Mode,” and click “Restore Previous Plugin State” to put everything back exactly as it was. ### Troubleshooting * **The menu doesn’t appear:** Confirm your user has the `activate_plugins` capability and that the Admin Bar is enabled for your account (Users Your Profile Toolbar). * **A toggle does nothing:** Open your browser console for errors; your session/ nonce may have expired — refresh the page. * **“Security check failed” message:** Your nonce expired (usually after 12–24 hours or after logging out/in elsewhere). Refresh the page and try again. * **A plugin won’t activate:** Click “View Details” on the failure message for the sanitized error WordPress returned; it usually indicates a PHP error or missing dependency in that plugin. ### Minimum Requirements * WordPress 6.9 or greater * PHP 8.1 or greater ## Installation 1. Upload the `togglepilot-admin-module-manager` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`, or install the zip via Plugins Add New Upload Plugin. 2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress. 3. Look for the “⚡ Plugins” item in your Admin Bar (visible to users with the `activate_plugins` capability). 4. Optionally visit Settings TogglePilot – Admin Module Manager to configure labels, protected plugins, and appearance. ## FAQ ### Can this plugin deactivate itself? No. TogglePilot – Admin Module Manager is always shown as “Always Active” in the dropdown and cannot be turned off from its own UI. This prevents the interface from disappearing while you’re using it. To deactivate it, use the standard Plugins page. ### What happens if a plugin activation fails? The plugin surfaces a sanitized error message (with a “View Details” option) and never marks a plugin as active in the UI unless WordPress core confirms the activation actually succeeded. ### Does this work with plugin dependencies? Yes. If a plugin declares required plugins via the “Requires Plugins” header, TogglePilot– Admin Module Manager checks whether those dependencies are active before allowing activation, and warns you if they are not. ### Does this support Multisite? The plugin performs capability checks appropriate to the current site context. Network- level (site-wide) activation is intentionally out of scope for the initial release; the plugin manages plugins at the site level only, and its architecture leaves room to add network-level support later. ### Will this slow down my site? No. Assets (CSS/JS) are only enqueued for users who can see the menu (i.e., users with the `activate_plugins` capability) and only after the Admin Bar is confirmed visible.
