FAQ
-
Does this work without ACF?
-
No — Webcasata FilterX requires ACF to be installed and active. ACF is used to define and manage custom taxonomies that power the filter dropdowns.
-
Can I use it with the free version of ACF?
-
Yes, the free version of ACF (available on WordPress.org) is all you need.
-
How many search widgets can I create?
-
Unlimited, on the free plan.
-
Can I search across multiple post types?
-
Each search widget targets one post type. You can create multiple widgets (one per post type) and place them anywhere on your site.
-
Will it slow down my site?
-
Webcasata FilterX uses WordPress’s native
WP_Querywith standard nonce verification. All queries run only on user interaction (not on page load). No external API calls are made. -
Is the shortcode output cached?
-
The initial results load is triggered by JavaScript after the page loads. You can add server-side caching (e.g. via Transients or object caching) using the
filterx_query_argsfilter hook. -
How do I style the search widget?
-
By default, Webcasata FilterX includes a clean, lightweight stylesheet. You can disable it in Webcasata FilterX Settings and write your own CSS. All elements have descriptive class names (
.filterx-widget,.filterx-post-card, etc.).
